How to Rename and Regroup Stems
Right-click stems to rename or change group / routing, create custom stem groups, and rename the ones you own — built-in algorithmic categories stay fixed.
Once stems are on an arrangement, you tidy how they show up on the song page — not in the uploader. Rename them, change their group via right-click routing, and build custom groups for how you think about the song.
You do not pick stem groups while dropping files. Drop uploads immediately; rename and route afterward (or let Analyze take a first pass). See Uploading and Analyzing Your Stems.
Rename a stem
- Open the arrangement.
- Find the stem in the stem list.
- Right-click → rename (or edit the name inline). If that menu is missing on your build, click Edit first, then right-click (or rename inline). If you used Edit, click Done when finished.
Names are for you and your band in the app. Re-uploading a file with the same name replaces that stem instead of duplicating it — see Uploading and Analyzing Your Stems.
Move stems between groups
In the stem list, right-click a stem and use the rename / group / routing menu. If right-click routing is missing on your build, click Edit first, then use the menu; click Done when finished with Edit. Use this when auto-grouping put something in the wrong bucket (vocals under keys, a pad under guitars, and so on).
You cannot drag a stem between groups — routing is right-click only. See Keyboard Shortcuts.
Custom stem groups
- Open the arrangement stem list (click Edit first if Create Stem Group is not available yet; click Done when finished with Edit).
- Choose Create Stem Group.
- Name the group, then right-click stems and route them into it.
You can rename or delete custom groups. The built-in algorithmic categories (the ones Pliris creates from analysis) can't be deleted — they're the default scaffolding.
Tips
- Group by role for rehearsal (Drums / Bass / Vocals / Tracks), not by file name.
- Keep click, cues, and LTC in obvious places so nobody mutes the wrong thing live.

How do I rename a stem in Pliris?

Can I create my own stem groups?

Why can't I delete a stem group?
Built-in groups from analysis are fixed scaffolding. Only custom groups you created can be renamed or deleted.
Do I choose groups in the uploader?
No. The uploader is status-only. Routing happens on the song page after the files land.
