Replacing Stems and Re-analyzing a Song

How to swap files on an existing song, avoid duplicates, and get a clean re-analysis.

Replacing a stem

Inside an arrangement, re-upload a file with the same name to replace the previous version (upsert). Re-uploading is safe for that path.

If you upload different names, you get additional stems — that is the usual reason people see “I uploaded 8 and now I have 16.”

Cleaning up before a fresh analysis

If old files are confusing analysis or playback:

  1. Remove the stems you no longer want from the arrangement.
  2. Upload the definitive set (matching names if you intend to replace).
  3. Run analysis again from the arrangement UI when offered.
  4. If sections/tempo look wrong after a partial re-upload, prefer a clean arrangement rather than layering conflicting files.

Duplicate stems after zip upload

Zips that contain both nested folders and top-level copies of the same audio can produce extras. Prefer a flat zip of the stems you actually want, or delete the duplicates after import.
