Band Access Levels
What each band permission can do — view only, download files, create setlists, manage arrangements, edit songs, manage members — plus how that differs from account admin.
Every person on a band gets permissions that decide whether they can only watch, download stems, build setlists, edit songs, manage arrangements, or invite others. You set these when you invite a member, and you can change them later from Members.
Band permissions
These are the assignable levels used across Pliris™:
- View only — see the band, songs, and setlists. No downloads.
- Download files — everything in View only, plus download existing stems and files. This is not the same as building an Ableton export.
- Create setlists — build and edit setlists (and run Ableton exports the product allows for that role).
- Manage arrangements — full edit on arrangements they belong to (stems, sections, cues, and the rest of the arrangement workflow), including building Ableton exports when the product allows it.
- Edit songs — change song-level details (titles and related song settings) beyond arrangement work alone.
- Manage members — invite and remove people and change what they can do on the band.
Account admins always have full access. Superadmin is From Studio to Stage staff only — not something you assign to a bandmate.
Picking the right level
- Subs and guests who just need to rehearse → View only or Download files.
- Someone building the night's order → Create setlists.
- Bandmates who build and fix arrangements with you → Manage arrangements (add Edit songs if they should rename or restructure songs too).
- Someone who should run the crew when you're offline → Manage members (often combined with manage arrangements).
Downloads vs exports
Download files = pull existing stems and files.
Ableton export = build a Live set — needs manage-style access (create setlists, manage arrangements, or account/band admin powers). See Exporting Your Show Back to Ableton.
Account access vs band access
Your subscription (Free, All-Access, guest pass) decides what the product unlocks for your email. Band permissions decide what that person can do inside a specific band. Both have to line up — a Free account still won't get paid-only templates even with manage arrangements.
Some account-wide settings (for example the band's Ableton template under Account settings) are account-admin only — band manage access can export with the template that's set, but can't change it. See How to Choose an Ableton Template.

View only lets someone see the band, songs, and setlists but not download stems or build exports.
Can someone with Download files export to Ableton?
No — Download files covers downloading existing stems and files. Building an Ableton export needs create-setlists, manage-arrangements, or admin-level access. See Exporting Your Show Back to Ableton.
What's the difference between Manage arrangements and Manage members?
Manage arrangements is about the music (stems, sections, cues, exports). Manage members is about the people (invite, remove, change permissions).
What's the difference between my subscription and band access level?
Your subscription unlocks product features for your email; band permissions control what you can do inside a specific band. Both must allow the action.
How do I change someone's band access level?
Open Members, find the person, and update their permissions — the same place you invite members.
