We're changing how credits are counted — and what you get — because some amazing features are on the way that will use them.
Starting today, we're changing how many credits each user gets, how they're redeemed, and paving the way for new features.
Why now
Here's the real reason first: there are some amazing features on the way that will use credits, and we needed to make this shift before releasing them.
Credits now measure minutes of processing instead of whole songs. Shorter songs take fewer credits, longer songs take more — which is exactly what lets us sustainably offer song analysis today and the new features that are coming, all from one balance, without inventing a new kind of credit for every capability we ship.
It's all in service of the same goal everything we build points at: cutting playback programming time by 90% and making preparing for rehearsal effortless, because Pliris does the work.
What changed
Analysis is now priced by what it actually is: 20 credits per minute of audio, rounded up to the minute. Shorter songs take fewer credits; longer songs take more. You see the exact cost before anything is charged.
- Free accounts now get 240 credits a month (up from 3).
- Paid accounts now get 1,000 credits a month (up from 35) — and most members use well under half of that.
Your balance converted automatically, and here's the part I want to be plain about: your current billing period restarted with the full monthly amount, no matter what you'd already used. Nobody starts behind.
One more fix that's been bugging me: if an analysis fails, you get your credits back automatically. You only ever pay for processing that completes.
And nothing about the round trip changed — re-importing an edited .als from Ableton still costs nothing, ever. And importing an entire Ableton Project with your data from the .als and your stems in the project folder, still doesn't require any credits. It's an import, not an analysis.
What you'll see
Open Pliris and click your avatar — the credits meter now shows your new balance and the date it refills. The Analyze on Upload toggle shows what a pass will cost before you commit. Everything else is exactly where you left it.
