They believe a guitar play is on stage “faking” playing guitar and 

The guitar is on the track. That’s not the case. They’re onstage playing their parts and supplementing their sounds with sounds from the original record and sending MIDI and timecode to

automate their production. I’ve heard great musicians use playback, and I’ve heard terrible musicians use playback…they were all real.
