How to Build a Master Set Using Setlist for Ableton Live

With Setlist by Strange Electronic, building a master set of all your songs is as easy as a few mouse clicks. Watch as Ableton Live Certified Trainer Will Doggett adds a song, changes the order, and removes a song in just a few clicks with Setlist’s super easy-to-use interface.

In this preview lesson from the Using Setlist with Ableton Live course, Ableton Live Certified Trainer Will Doggett shows you how you can manage your set using Setlist by Strange Electronic.

Building a Setlist using the Setlist plug-in is a very simple process, thanks to the way Setlist is configured. There are two main windows displayed when you open Setlist, which are:

  1. FULL LIST: This column on the left side displays all the songs you have available in your Ableton Live set. Songs are listed alphabetically for quick navigation.
  2. SET LIST: This column on the right side is where you build a set with Setlist.

Getting Started Building a Set with SetList

Click “Open Interface” in Setlist Plug-in by Strange Electronic to open the main plug-in window.

To get started, click “Open Interface.”

Select a song from the full list and click “Add to Setlist” to add to the “Set List” in Setlist plug-in by Strange Electronic.

Select the songs you want from the “FULL LIST” and add them to your set by clicking “Add to Setlist.” The songs in the “Full List” are populated by the name of locators in your Ableton Live set. Select a song in the “Set List” window and click “Move Up” or “Move Down” to adjust song order

Change the order of the songs in your set by clicking “Move Up” and “Move Down.”

Select a song in the “Set List” window and click “Remove” to remove from your set list.

You can remove songs from your set by clicking “Remove.”
