Overview

In this course, you’ll learn how to connect Ableton Live to other computers, and production gear. You’ll be able to connect a computer running Ableton Live to any other computer or piece of gear, no matter the setup, or distance between the two machines.

Objectives

  • Understand how to connect Ableton to any piece of gear, no matter the connection type
  • Understand how to connect Ableton Live via wired and wireless connection types
  • Understand the considerations when connecting Ableton Live wirelessly to another machine
  • Learn how to send connect Ableton Live to another device to send LTC
  • Learn how to connect Ableton Live to another device via an ethernet cable using a Network MIDI connection
  • Learn how to connect Ableton Live to another device using a 5 pin MIDI cable
  • Learn how to connect Ableton Live to another device using 5 Pin MIDI that is over 50′ Feet
  • Learn how to use the JL Copper MLA-XLR device to send 5 Pin MIDI over 50′
  • Learn how to create a DIY MIDI-XLR adapter and use the MIDI Solutions power adapter to send MIDI over 50′
  • Learn how to send 5 pin MIDI over 50′ using an ethernet cable and the Kenton Line Driver
  • Learn how to send MIDI wirelessly between two machines using a wireless Network MIDI connection
  • Understand when and how to use Ableton Live between two machines
